The criminal case against Calexico City Council Member Rosie Fernandez stemming from two traffic collisions was continued on Nov. 26 to Jan. 13 for a pre-trial conference before Superior Court Judge Monica Lepe-Negrete.
On Nov. 12, Fernandez, through
defense attorney Eduardo Rivera, pleaded not guilty to four misdemeanor charges
in an out-of-court “window arraignment” at the court’s criminal
division office. That allowed her to avoid appearing in person at a scheduled
Nov. 13 arraignment.
On Nov. 26, the cases
were assigned to Lepe-Negrete. Fernandez did not appear in court with Rivera.
